Gretsch Guitars Diddley Electric Guitar

The Gretsch White Falcon was my initial effort into severe electric guitar playing. It was a 1970′s model and they are nearly the same today as they were back then. I genuinely loved just when it comes to everything when it comes to that guitar. The only reason I parted with it was to obtain sufficient cash to buy my Gretsch SuperChet, which I still have today.

How I wished I wouldn’t have sold that guitar back then. Nowadays, those guitars are considered rather rare, and are worth more or less a bit of money. Unfortunately it was destroyed by the guy who purchased it. He had intended to load it in his car trunk, but rather he backed over it!

Features: 9.0 Stars

The guitar is very full-featured and you will not be disappointed with everything that this fingerstyle electric guitar will deliver. Don’t be befooled into thinking that this is only a fingerstyle guitar though. It is a outstanding flatpick guitar as well. But I will confess to favoring it for fingerstyle type guitar playing.

About my only negative in regards to this guitar is that the White Falcon is a bit showy for my taste. That is basically why I put mine up for sale. A more or less more conservative approach was more in line with my tastes.

Sound Production: 9.5 Stars

As I have owned assorted Gretsch guitars over the years, and I am hooked on that ‘great Gretsch Sound’. As do all the mutual Chet Atkins models, this guitar possess that alluring sound as well. It has the same electronics and basically puts out the same sound.

Playing Action: 9.0

The setup of the guitars from Gretsch are genuinely introductory class. One of the best features of their guitars is that you don’t have to touch the setup of the nut due to the installation of a zero fret. In my opinion, this is a very smart decision. Stating this from experience, the nut is many times the most difficult element to adjust utterly on a guitar. If you feel the need to lower the strings just a bit, the adaptable bridge is very simple to adjust either up or down. The White Falcon was delivered with a almost perfective setup as closely each high-end Gretsch guitar is.

Durability of the Guitar: 9.5 Stars

My Gretsch SuperChet is over 30 years old and still looks like brand new, just by using a little TLC. The White Falcon will do the same for you. With a little basic care and mutual sense, you may keep your guitar looking like brand new. Quality control is great on this guitar. I found no finish imperfections, minor cracking, de-lamination or any other imperfections. The detailing is impeccable. About the only thing it would not withstand is being run over by a car!

Guitar Overall Score: 9.4

The Gretsch White Falcon electric guitar, is one of the best fingerstyle guitars that may be purchased in today’s market. It will stand up the rigors of playing on the road, has a bunch of noteworthy features, and the sound and action is incredible. If you like the sound of the Chet Atkins model guitars, it is guaranteed that you will like the sound of this guitar.

But, a few things I’m not overly impressed with is the gold sparking finish of the pick-guard and trim and the huge pad on the back of the guitar. But that is just my personal preference.

What you will have with the White Falcon is a deep, rich, Chet Atkins type sound.

It matters not if you are a seasoned professional or an innovative student guitar player, this guitar will step up to the plate to meet your needs. The White Falcon is in a select group of fingerstyle electric guitars and it receives numerous of my most eminent marks.
