Here’s a short glossary of terms ofttimes employed by guitarists. This is the minimum you need to know regarding person elements of the electric guitar.
Bar or Arm: (aka Tremolo Bar, Vibrato Bar) A device made of a metal rod connected to the bridge which presses on the strings to adjust the pitch.
Bridge: The metal plate that joins the strings to the body.
Body: The main share of the guitar. On Electric Guitars this is a solid piece of wood and houses the electronic controls and the bridge assembly.
End Pins: Also known as the Strap Buttons are metal points on the bottom and side of the guitar where the straps are connected.
Frets: Thin metal bars or wires along the neck which shorten the string length.
Fret board: (also known as the Fingerboard) The long section containing the frets where the left-hand fingers are placed.
Headstock: The section at the end of the neck which holds the tuning machine.
Luthiers: The craftsmen who make guitars. More likely in a factory nowadays.
Neck: the long wooden arm which holds the fret board and connects the body and the headstock.
Nut: The grooved strip where the headstock joins the neck. This stops the strings from vibrating beyond the neck.
Output Jack or Socket. The connection socket to connect the guitar to the amplifier.
Pickup: The electric bar that converts the vibration of the strings into the tiny electrical current that the amplifier may then use to fabricate the music sound.
Pickup Selector Switch. Used to select which Pickup is live.
Strings: The Six metal wires that vibrate to fabricate dissimilar sounds.
Tone and Volume Controls: Controls to adjust the bass, Treble and loudness.
Tuning Machine: The assemblage on the Headstock that uses gears to adjust the tension on the strings

How Big Are the Books?
A mutual complaint amongst purchasers of “How to…” eBooks is that the description didn’t actually give them a clear idea of how big the books were and they are without variation disappointed.
Strings Series Music Books are around 3000-4000 words (plus a good deal of music exercises) or roughly 50 pages when formatted in Word. Obviously page sizes vary on Kindle. I’m positive you won’t feel ripped off; if you do contact Amazon for a refund!

Who are you?
My name is Mike Taylor and I am a musician and teacher. Much of my music book writing psychological result of perception learning and reasoning was gained when I wrote a syllabus for my Professional Musicianship degree. I learned even more in regards to instructing for the duration of my two years as a fulltime music theory, guitar, bass and drum teacher. I no longer instruct fulltime as I’m working more as a musician and I proceed to learn from the aweinspiring musicians I meet!
