3Works, but not as good as the BOSS
By Luke Deniston
This pedal works fine, but it’s not nearly as sturdy as the Boss TU-2. I actually went out to purchase the Boss, but a salesman talked me into this one since it was cheaper (also, the markup on Boss products is very small, despite the higher price tag). I took it on tour with me and very shortly thereafter one of the LEDs busted- they sit exposed poking out, just asking to break. About four years later, the pedal part broke off, now I have to reach into the casing and poke the little button with my finger.

This is a decent pedal at a decent price, but I wish I had bought the Boss- they last forever. If you don’t have the 90$ though, this is a good deal.

3Accurate, but breakable with design flaws
By DRC
It’s the old addage, “you get what you pay for”. I have to say this tuner is very accurate with quick response, very bright LEDs (even on bright days outside) and note/sharp readout (in the dark), but that’s it. The pedal and mechanism are plastic and I’ve heard of too many breaking not long after purchase. Also, although the LEDs are easily seen in any conditions, the note indicator area can’t be seen outside even on an overcast day. With the sun shining during a gig, forget it. This may or may not be important to some. That same sensitive bezel area is unprotected and can be damaged upon contact with something. Another poor design area.

I certainly wouldn’t categorize the PT 100 as a professional quality product at all, and I suspect it’s not meant to be. At street prices as low as $45, the PT 100 is probably something to consider for those on a budget who want an accurate “stomp” tuner for basic daily use….indoors. Just treat it with care and it may last a while. And from what I’ve heard, it may not. However, if you gig a lot and/or tour, I’d recommend looking elsewhere and spend a few more bucks for a better quality tuner such as the Boss TU2.

5PT – 100
By N. Lamsam
The PT-100 does exactly what it was built to do. Other people had problems with the plastic piece that you actually “stomp” on, just don’t jump on it and it will be fine. It tunes very well, is very bright and readable, and is simple to use. I was worried that it wouldn’t tune my bass but it does just fine. Awesome product!
